We are pleased to present this catalogue compiling publications, brochures and newsletters produced by UNESCO’s 14 field offices in the Asia-Pacific region in 2012/2013.These publications cover UNESCO’s five fields of competence (Education: 68, Natural Sciences: 11, Social and Human Sciences: 7, Culture: 32, Communication and Information: 7) and are available online in the UNESDOC database (http://unesdoc.unesco.org) and on the field offices’ websites (for a full list, visit: www.unescobkk.org/asia-pacific/in-this-region/unesco-offices). Some publications are aimed at informing the general public, while others are destined more for specialists, but all of them are important tools for the Organization to share knowledge, achievements, data and resources with wider society. In 2013, UNESCO adopted an Open Access Policy, which grants an irrevocable right of access to copy, use, distribute, transmit and make derivative works in any format within certain constraints. In order for UNESCO’s publications to reach the widest possible audience in the Asia-Pacific region, and especially given that the Open Access Policy is now being implemented, Member States.
