Dr. Parrino teaches courses in regular degree and executiveeducation programs at the University of Texas, as well as incustomized executive education courses for industrial,financial, and professional firms. He has also taught at theUniversity of Chicago, University of Rochester, and IMADECUniversity in Vienna. Dr. Parrino has received numerousawards for teaching excellence at the University of Texasfrom students, faculty, and the Texas Exes (alumniassociation).Dr. Parrino has been involved in advancing financialeducation outside of the classroom in a variety of ways. As aChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, he hasbeen very active with the CFA Institute, having been amember of the candidate curriculum committee, served as aregular speaker at the annual Financial Analysts Seminar, spoken at over 20 Financial Analyst Society meetings, andserved as a member of the planning committee for the CFAInstitute's Annual Meeting. In addition, Dr. Parrino is thefounding director of the Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Center forPrivate Equity Finance at the University of Texas. The centersponsors conferences and other educational activities inareas related to private equity finance. Dr. Parrino was VicePresident for Financial Education of the FinancialManagement Association (FMA) from 2008 to 2010 and anacademic director of the FMA from 2011 to 2013.
